WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME TO THIS BLOG-A LABOR OF LOVE FOR ME.
As a personal injury attorney helping injured people for over 30 years, I have become familiar with many types of physical and emotional injuries and have worked closely with hundreds of physicians in the course of their treatment of my clients. I am a total health, wellness and science geek, reading everything I can get my hands on since I was a boy. Believe it or not, my last Christmas card contained proposed resolutions regarding how to extend your life through simple health changes.
I am, of course, am not a doctor and do not give medical advice, but there is so much good information out there and I am anxious to share.
My post will roughly fall into these two categories:
Please shoot back any suggestions or commentary that you might have to help me more sharply focus on the issues to interest of broad interest.
PERSONAL INJURY & LEGAL
WHAT IN THE WORLD DO I DO IF A LOVED ONE GETS HURT THROUGH THE FAULT OF ANOTHER?
There are few life changing events that come so suddenly without warning as a personal injury suffered in an automobile or motorcycle accident or other event caused by the fault of another. Since statistics tell us that each of us will be involved in an accident every ten years, it pays to be prepared with information that will reduce the stress and dislocation that is often caused by an injury.
I have a helpful brochure that you keep in your glove box. Please email me at this link: bill@WilliamSchniekartLaw.com and I will return it to you by return email. If you even think you might be injured its important you are checked out by a doctor as soon as possible. This does not mean you have to take a $5,000 trip to the emergency room. Your family doctor or a nearby chiropractor can see you for injuries that are not life threatening or require immediate care.
The second most important thing you can do is to: GET SOMEONE YOU TRUST ON YOUR SIDE TO ADVISE YOU. Most attorneys’ give free consultations to injury clients. You should take advantage to see several lawyers and evaluate which one you feel you can trust and which one will offer you the best personal service. If lawyer will not meet with you and tries to shuffle you off to a staff member or inexperienced lawyer, keep looking. Do not rely on advertising on selecting a lawyer. Get a referral and personally interview the lawyer to make sure you can put your trust in him or her and still sleep at night. If the lawyer you select is not responsive to your needs, fire him or her and get another. You deserve an experienced, aggressive and responsive service from your lawyer. Do not stand for less. The lawyer you select is very important to your future; he or she should treat you as if you are very important to his or her future.
The Supreme Court of Florida has a list of CLIENTS RIGHT’S that all prospective clients should know about before they hire a lawyer. Please email me at bill@WilliamSchneikartLaw.com and I will forward you a copy. Your case is only as good as the doctor who treats you say it is. Since many physicians are unable or unwilling to properly document the problems suffered by injured people it is sometimes helpful to make sure you go to a physician for care who is not only an excellent physician, but also is prepared to stand behind and assist his patient in court if necessary. Often an experienced lawyer can offer you suggestions about physicians that are familiar with the legal system.
Once you have a lawyer and doctor you can trust, you as an injured person can concentrate on trying to get your life back to normal.
